The Ouzoud waterfalls are waterfalls approximately 110 m high, on three levels, on a picturesque geological site in the Tissakht wadi, at an altitude of 1060 m in the Atlas massif, in the Haut Central Atlas.
This vast site is an important Moroccan tourist destination, 160 km northeast of Marrakech.
Ouzoud is one of the most beautiful sites in the Middle Atlas, where sumptuous waterfalls, surrounded by an almost permanent rainbow, rush from a height of 110 m into a basin of limestone rocks in the middle of a luxurious vegetation. It is possible to swim at the foot of the waterfalls, accessible by a shaded path strewn with olive trees.
At the top of the falls, a stone’s throw from the impressive chasm, there are a dozen small ancient grain mills, still in operation thanks to the water from the torrent.
At dusk, you can observe entire families of monkeys rowding in the carob trees, these large trees with tasty fruits that they love. Around a hundred macaques, with beige hair and eyes surrounded by a black line, have indeed taken up residence in the caves of the cliffs.
